About this project

Bob Brookmeyer was a celebrated and innovative composer, arranger, valve trombonist, pianist, bandleader, and a visionary educator.  Throughout his life, he developed intriguing compositional methods and approaches, which he shared with students and colleagues, inspiring generations of composers.

Dave Rivello, Professor at the Eastman School of Music and former student of Brookmeyer, will now share Brookmeyer's compositional legacy with aspiring and established composers around the world with his new textbook and app, which contains sketches/scores, video, audio, and text to create a 360 degree view of the music.

In addition to Bob's compositional methods, the materials will reveal Bob's generous kindness and sense of humor through stories, discussions and interactions with those who knew him best.
