About This Offer
"Ding Dong Ding" is, as Mel Lewis put it when he'd announce the tune on the
bandstand, "Bob's version of a nursery rhyme." A great up-tempo tune, it has
solo space for Soprano and Piano (unaccompanied), though it is possible to
open up the soprano solo section to feature other members of the orchestra.
This work was included on the Mel Lewis and The Jazz Orchestra's recording,
Bob Brookmeyer: Composer/Arranger, which was not only a pivotal
recording in Bob's career, but from which every composition quickly became a
staple in large ensemble repertoire. After years of being out of print (and
before that, published with many mistakes), we are thrilled to finally make
this chart available again, re-engraved and edited directly from Bob’s
original manuscript score, and the original parts provided by the Vanguard
Jazz Orchestra. This is the first time in almost forty years that this music
is available to be studied and performed as Bob originally conceived it.
Study Scores will be available as downloadable PDF files in your account
immediately after purchase.
